Usability Testing Report

The purpose of this test is to find out how a user interacts with Blinkee.com navigation and architecture of the prototype created. This test helps us define pain points we may have missed on our initial research and can resolve in the early stages of ideation.

Key findings

1 - Home icon - This was not located in an ideal location so users were lost back to the main page.

2 - Back button - Users were missing the button Icon and back to the items.

3 - Users were missing the information about payment methods used to review your cart section.

Participants profile

User 1 - female -  spends about 6 hours of his day  checking emails, checking social media, and doing shopping.

User 2 - male - spends about 4 hours doing shopping, checking emails, playing video games.

User 3 - male - spends about 5 hours checking emails, doing shopping, reading news, stock market.

Goals of the user test

1 - understand the user's journey to purchase a new blinky product.

2 - Find the possible failures during the entire interaction.

Tasks were asked:

Task 1- Today you have to buy a Christmas decoration. I would like you to use the navigation to show me how you would first find a Christmas decoration and add it to your cart.

Task 2 - Now you have to buy a  product for your child's birthday party. Should be something about pirates. Let me know how you are going to look for it.

Task 3 - The final task is about to complete your purchase . Go to the shopping cart and see the instructions to complete it.

What is working:

The process was very good .The interaction was easy for users and they could complete the purchase with success.

What is not working  and recommendation - home icon has to move to a new location, left side. Users had a problem finding it.  Back icons were missing for most of the users, and also the return icon. They should be added to the pages. Holidays and themes should be added to the filters.
